Update by the edhat staff The SpaceX launch was successful at 6:45 p.m. Thursday. The Falcon 9 rocket launched 21 Starlink satellites, including 13 with Direct to Cell capabilities, to low-Earth orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

SpaceX has scrubbed their Wednesday afternoon launch attempt of a Starlink mission. Now, 21 satellites are expected to head to low-Earth orbit tomorrow morning.

A SpaceX rocket carrying the 7,001st Starlink internet satellite launched into orbit from Florida today (Sept. 5), then aced its landing at sea.

"The SpaceX Falcon 9 vehicle may return to flight operations while the overall investigation of the anomaly during the Starlink Group 8-6 mission remains open, provided all other license requirements are met. SpaceX made the return to flight request on Aug. 29 and the FAA gave approval on Aug. 30," said the FAA statement provided to FLORIDA TODAY.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 22 Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The first stage of the rocket landed a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean several minutes after separation.
