Microsoft has confirmed a bug in Word for Microsoft 365 that deletes files if you try to save them.

In the last few days, the Microsoft community boards have been flooded with reports where people complained about their files randomly being deleted, with one user saying: “I use Word. Today, it deleted eight hours of work.

According to some Microsoft Word users, the Office software is apparently deleting files after saving — not the kind of behavior you want when doing important work, and not the kind of bug you’d expect from a company as established as Microsoft.
