U.S. Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance and Democratic rival Tim Walz will debate on Oct. 1 on CBS, after Vance said in a post on X that he had agreed to the date.

"The American people deserve as many debates as possible ... I look forward to seeing you at both," JD Vance wrote on X.

Walz had publicly agreed to the October debate in CBS’s New York City studios: “See you on October 1, JD,” he wrote on X. The commitments from both candidates guarantees at least one vice presidential debate this cycle,
