West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice will call the Legislature back to the Capitol this month to consider several proposals, including ones that would cut taxes and provide child care support.

Independent candidate Cornel West was cleared to be on the Virginia presidential ballot after the state reversed its decision on Friday. In a letter to West’s campaign, the Virginia Department of Elections said it “reconsidered” its decision to bar West from the ballot and now he and Melina Abdullah,

Dr. Cornel West and and his running mate, Dr. Melina Abdullah, will also appear on the ballots of the battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Georgia.

Lawmakers approved adding the measure to the November 5 ballot in the final hours of the legislative session. House Joint Resolution 28 proposes amending West Virginia's constitution to prohibit any physician or health care provider from participating in the practice of "medically-assisted suicide, euthanasia or mercy killing."
