Reliance Power shares have hit back-to-back upper circuits for the past 11 sessions, rallying 70.8 per cent. On Thursday, the Anil Ambani stock zoomed 5 per cent to trade at the upper limit of the day at Rs 53.

Reliance Power and Reliance Infrastructure share prices are in a downward spiral after the latter company’s  board approved  Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCBs) worth of Rs 4,200 crore.

Reliance Power said the FCCBs would be convertible into 82.30 crore equity shares of Rs 10 apiece at the conversion price of Rs 51, including a premium of Rs 41 per equity share.

Reliance Power (RPower), led by Anil Ambani, has seen its shares surge by around 55% over the past nine trading sessions. From a closing price of Rs 31.40 on September 17, the stock has been hitting upper circuits consecutively, reaching Rs 48.66 by the latest session.

The stock was hitting 5% upper circuit for the past 12 sessions, while it maintained an uptrend since September 12, rising 72% during the same period.

Reliance Power stock was stuck in the lower circuit of 5% at Rs 48.43 in the current session against the previous close of Rs 50.97 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 19,454 crore
