Mandatory evacuation orders were issued Tuesday for a vegetation fire burning in Northern California’s Lake County. Cal Fire said an approximately 4-acre blaze, called the Harbor Fire, had a “rapid rate of spread” in Kelseyville, near Clear Lake. The fire was burning uphill, Cal Fire said in social media posts just before 5 p.m.

The wildfire tearing through Southern California’s San Bernardino County is now endangering more than 36,000 structures, according to emergency officials.

The Line fire has burned more than 20,500 acres in San Bernardino County since it started on Sept. 5, California officials said.

Uncontrolled wildfires scorched thousands of acres Sunday in the mountain communities of San Bernardino County near Lake Arrowhead and in the Angeles National Forest north of Glendora.

Thousands of people have packed up and abandoned their homes as a major wildfire rages just east of Los Angeles.
