After pummeling the Yucatan Peninsula, Tropical Storm Beryl emerged over the Gulf of Mexico on Friday and is expected to regain hurricane strength before making landfall on the Texas coast

Hurricane Beryl is headed towards the Texas Gulf Coast with hurricane force winds and heavy rainfall. Louisiana is also expected to have some impacts from Beryl as she makes landfall in south Texas. Heavy tropical downpours of rain can be expected in Louisiana beginning late Monday through Wednesday.

Western Louisiana should continue to monitor Hurricane Beryl as it enters the Gulf this weekend. Several factors are at play and the track remains uncertain.

With a strengthening storm moving inland into Texas on this new forecast track, Southeast Louisiana will see a surge of some extra moisture next week. Depending on Beryl’s strength and position, we could see some tropical showers from Beryl’s outer rainbands,
