The country music world was stunned when singer Joshua Ray Walker announced last week that the cancer he was battling had spread to his lungs. Perhaps as stunning has been the resiliency he has shown as he enters a new stage of his battle.

DALLAS, Texas -- Country musician Joshua Ray Walker shared an update with fans after announcing his cancer diagnosis on social media last week.

I’ve probably been more healthy this year with cancer than I’ve ever been,” the singer said in an Instagram video.

Though Walker has completed chemotherapy for colon cancer, multiple nodes of varying sizes were found in both his lungs.

To find completely new growth in a new organ was something for which I was not prepared,” Joshua Ray Walker wrote in his statement.
