Texas-based utility provider CenterPoint Energy has said it will have nearly 3,500 distribution line workers on standby around Houston to deal with any power outages caused by Tropical Storm Francine which is due to lash southeastern parts of the state from Tuesday evening.

CenterPoint Energy continues to actively monitor Tropical Storm Francine and prepare to respond to potential impacts in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The company has been monitoring the weather, coordinating with emergency and agency partners and mobilizing resources across its service area to be prepared to respond to impacts and outages.
