Interesting Masterbuilt 560/1050 mods - Pitmaster Club

Mostly the firebox liner, but all of the mods looked pretty well thought out to me, but I don't own one of the grills (but have been intrigued by it since it was announced).
Which are the Essential Must have mods - 560 Series
WEBAug 25, 2022 · Essential Must have mods. None. Had my 560 for over a year and all I've done is put a beer can chicken grate in the ash bucket. $5 on amazon. In no way necessary. Others might be nice to have or make for easier cleanup, like the manifold or hopper lid covers, but much cheaper and easier to just use foil.

WEBMar 18, 2021 · I just want something that will fit the dimensions of the 1050 like the griddle for the 800 does. I'm really confused why Masterbuilt doesn't offer the unnecessary "special manifold" with a griddle for the 560 and 1050, even as a separate purchase.

WEB--The ability to mod the 560 seems exponentially greater than either the PBC or the Weber. There's a long list of mods actively updated on the Facebook group including upgrading the cord to be more waterproof, tweaking the charcoal grate to prevent more coal from falling through and not being burnt up, adding front shelves, and adding lights.

WEBJun 17, 2021 · If you are going to add mods, especially the firebox liner, do it before cooking anything in it, otherwise it may be a super PITA to get it in. Buy some plastic putty knives to use as scrapers for cleaning. They work a treat and are only a few bucks for a set of three. My mods from LSS: Firebox liner, cover on manifold with drip pan brackets.

WEBMay 27, 2021 · Mods for 800? I know the 800 is the updated version, but does anyone still recommend mods? The charcoal grate is definitely the updated version. There is also a flap to prevent charcoal bits from getting into the fan. It seems like the fire box is heavier duty as well. I’m mostly considering the back vent and maybe the manifold cover.
