Mostly the firebox liner, but all of the mods looked pretty well thought out to me, but I don't own one of the grills (but have been intrigued by it since it was announced).

Cons: None that I have found. 2)Ash Bin Grate. I had a grate from something laying around that I bent one side for the angle side of the ash bin.

WEBMay 7, 2020 · So I went the Fireboard route. It worked/works perfectly, with tighter control of the grill than the Masterbuilt controller. So when I got a new 1050 grill, I switched over the Fireboard to the 1050. I bought an abs printed faceplate that adapts the Fireboard to the hole left by the Masterbuilt controller.

WEBAug 8, 2021 · Here’s a quick and easy how to video on how to bypass the switch on the Charcoal Hopper door on your MasterBuilt 1050. You can use it as a permanent bypass or as a temporary one. From the pictures you posted, it appears in the first picture, that there’s some structural issue on the charcoal hopper door where the switch is located.

WEBMar 23, 2022 · Hate to hear you had a bad experience with the 800. I've had the 1050 since Christmas 2020 and use it three to four times a week. We've all had the switch issues but I spray mine with contact cleaner in between cooks and I've had very few issues since added that routine maintenance.
